Stakeholders’ Perspectives for Taking Action to Prevent Abandoned, Lost, or Otherwise Discarded Fishing Gear in Gillnet Fisheries, Taiwan

Abandoned, lost, or otherwise discarded fishing gear (ALDFG) and ghost are becoming increasingly severe, hurting marine ecology inspiring worldwide concern. The Global Ghost Gears Initiative (GGGI) is committed to building a best practice framework for the management of believes that proper systematic marking will help mitigate impacts ALDFG fishing. However, mandatory fishery management, without considering geographical characteristics each region, could lead confrontations between government industry.
